Now earlier today I went on youtube to watch some videos and I was getting no sound. I did a bit of searching and it was suggested that download K-Lite Codecs Pack... it comes with a codec tweak tool that will fix any broken audio. I did have on the computer before Ace Mega Codecs Pack. Of course I had to unistall that pack before I could install the K-Lite. I went on youtube and volume is back....

I later in the day tried one more time to try and open up Ulead 9. And to my delight (but it didn't last long) it acutally took me to actual main page where the videos that I had inserted to work on a video were still there. A registration thing poped up but I just minimized it. I went to try and open up the project I was working on before all this happened. It retrieved it but the videos in the timeline were just black with no picture.
Then Ulead started to freeze up and then that error poped up again and Ulead shut down. I tried one more time and I got on again and this time I tried to insert a video ... it inserted but again the thumbnail wouldn't show a picture and when I tried to play back the video Ulead froze up again and the error poped up.
I don't know if me installing the K-Lite was just a coincidence that I was able to go a little further Ulead or the two have nothing to do with the other. Just thought I would mention it.
Now Trevor suggested I check out the link he provided about problems with Windows Installers.
I read through that thread and from what I understand Ulead won't work properly if it has Version 3 of Windows Installer. Someone in the thread posted to do a search on msi.dll and several different ones will come up.
I did a search on my computer and 5 msi.dll came up (three of them were Version 3 and the other two were versions 2)
Now the Version 2 Windows intallers that were found and it said they both wer the same versions '2.0.2600.1106' but the info for the folder they were in differed 'C:WINNT$MSI31Unistall_kB8...' and the other'C:WINNT$NtServicePackUnistall...'
And my Version 3 Window Installer is in folder 'C:WINNTSystem32'
I assume with the unistall mentioned above in the two Version 2 files that I Need to download Version 2 of Windows Intaller and get rid of version 3??
